B. Corey Cuvelier

Two decades into a thriving career at Shell USA, Inc., Elder B. Corey Cuvelier was called to serve as a mission leader for the Church. When Cuvelier announced that he would be leaving his successful executive position and home in Texas to do religious service in Brazil for the next three years, many of his colleagues were baffled. They thought his decision was crazy. But for him, those concerns were an opportunity for him “to share why we do what we do and why we believe what we believe and in whom we believe. That’s Jesus Christ.”¹

From 2016 to 2019, Cuvelier and his wife, Wendi Sue Manwaring, served as mission leaders of the Brazil Curitiba South Mission. Many years earlier, Cuvelier had served there as a young missionary in the Brazil São Paulo South Mission. Cuvelier has also held the roles of bishop, high councilor, stake president, ward Young Men president, and Area Seventy in the North America Southwest Area. Cuvelier was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the April 2025 general conference.

Born on January 12, 1969, Cuvelier was adopted and raised in Los Angeles, California as the eldest of three sisters. He attended Brigham Young University studying public relations and playing on the BYU soccer team before his graduation in 1994. Shortly after, he joined Shell USA, where he worked across various North America business units. He has also served as a director on several national and regional boards.

Elder Cuvelier and his wife met at BYU and were married on July 18, 1992, in the Los Angeles California Temple. They are the parents of four boys. Having long ago promised to go wherever the Lord would send him, Elder Cuvelier continues to follow that call with faith as he bears testimony of Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world.
