LaNae Valentine is a native of a small farming community in southern Colorado. She served an LDS mission to Belgium and France from 1976 to 1978 and received a doctorate degree in marriage and family therapy from Brigham Young University in 1988.
Sister Valentine taught at North Dakota State University and Colorado State University before returning to Brigham Young University in 1996. She previously served as the director of Women’s Services and Resources on campus. Sister Valentine’s research and clinical interests include women’s mental health, family history and inter-generational family dynamics, mind/body wellness, and resiliency. Sister Valentine has presented at local and national professional conferences on these topics as well as at Women’s Conference at BYU.
Sister Valentine is the favorite and only sister to five brothers.
