Neil J. Anderson
Neil J. Anderson was a humanities professor of linguistics and English language at Brigham Young University. He also served as coordinator of the English Language Center. Professor Anderson has a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in teaching English as a second or foreign language. Prior to coming to BYU in 1997, he taught at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
Professor Anderson has taught and presented papers and workshops in more than 20 countries and is the author of more than 30 books, book chapters, or peer review scholarly articles. He is best known for his research interests in second language reading, language learning strategies, and English language teaching leadership. During 2002–2003 Professor Anderson was a Fulbright scholar conducting research and teaching in Costa Rica.
Brother Anderson served as a missionary in Guatemala and El Salvador.
