Ryan Matthew Scoville spoke as a representative of his graduating class at BYU commencement on August 14, 2003.
Scoville earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from BYU and a juris doctor from Stanford Law School, where he was an executive editor for the Stanford Law Review. He was a Fulbright Scholar at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan, in 2018. He has been a professor of law at Marquette University Law School since 2011. He teaches civil procedure, US foreign relations law, and international law.
