Brian K. Taylor was sustained as a General Authority Seventy on April 1, 2017. At the time of his call, he was serving as president of the Texas Dallas Mission. He has also served as president of the Central America Area, counselor of the Idaho/North America Central Areas, institute teacher, high councilor, ward Young Men president, and stake president. Currently, Elder Taylor serves as a counselor in the Utah Area Presidency.
Elder Taylor was born on April 15, 1964, in Utah to Lowell Moon and Marie King Taylor. He earned a bachelor’s degree in arts from Brigham Young University in 1988 and later built several businesses and cofounded a successful software company serving the 9-1-1, Public Safety, and Homeland Security Agencies.
At BYU, where he played on the basketball team, Elder Taylor met Jill Featherstone, and they were married on April 30, 1987. Together they have raised seven children.
