David B. Paxman served as a professor in the English Department, where he taught advanced writing and early British literature, with a specialty in the 18th century. He received a PhD in English literature and language from the University of Chicago and taught at BYU–Hawaii for 12 years before coming to Provo.
He and his wife, Kathryn, have 10 children.
