H. Hal Visick
Hubert Hal Visick was born on June 12, 1930, in Kanab, Utah. He interrupted his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah to serve a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Texas-Louisiana Mission from 1949 to 1952. After his mission, he transferred from the University of Utah to Brigham Young University and graduated from there in 1955.
Visick joined the Air Force and was a pilot for four years. Following his military service, he attended George Washington University, graduating from the law school there in 1963. He lived in California and Michigan, where he practiced law at various firms, before returning to Utah and becoming assistant to the president and general legal counsel for BYU. Visick regularly taught religion classes and law courses at the university. He retired in 2001.
Visick married Else Bjorndal on March 12, 1959, in the Salt Lake Temple. They had eight children: Jennifer, Christopher, Davie, Saralinda, Elizabeth, Richard, Spencer, and Alexandra. Visick and Else served together in the Illinois Peoria Mission from 1986 to 1989.
He passed away on October 23, 2012, in Provo, Utah.
