Jeffery A. Thompson is the directory of and associate professor in the Romney Institute of Public Management at the Marriott School of Management. He was raised in Boise, Idaho, and graduated from BYU with a BA in Japanese in 1992 and an MBA in 1995. Professor Thompson earned a PhD in organizational behavior, with an emphasis in ethics, at the University of Minnesota in 1999, and then taught for four years in the business school at Miami University of Ohio prior to coming to BYU. His research focuses on meaningful work and organizational ethics.
Brother Thompson served a mission in Sapporo, Japan, and has served in the Church as Young Men president, elders quorum president, high priests group leader, and high councilor.
Brother Thompson is married to Aimee Smith, who graduated from BYU with a degree in humanities in 1992. They are the parents of four children.
