Jeffry H. Larson, PhD, completed two psychology degrees from BYU and then graduated from Texas Tech University in 1980 with a doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy.
Dr. Larson has taught at Iowa State University, Montana State University, the University of Florida, and Brigham Young University.
His research specialties include couple assessment and therapy, the predictors of marital satisfaction and stability, and premarital, marital, and remarital education approaches.
Dr. Larson has served as chair of the Utah State licensing board for marriage and family therapy and most recently was elected chairperson of the Family Therapy Section of the National Council on Family Relations. For the last 18 months he has served as editor of the professional journal The Journal of Couple and Relationship Therapy.
He received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Texas Tech University in 2001 and has also received the Alumni Professorship Award from BYU.
Dr. Larson has been married to Diana Jean Larson for 37 years, and they are the proud parents of four children.
