Jennifer Kearon
Jennifer Kearon, raised in Saratoga, California, is the youngest of eight children and earned her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in humanities with an emphasis in English literature. Before graduating, she spent six months studying in London and met Elder Kearon, who had been baptized into the Church two years earlier. What started in their young single adult ward eventually took them to the Oakland California Temple to be married on January 12, 1991.
After the wedding, they moved straight back to England where their family stayed for the next 19 years. When her husband became a General Authority in 2010, she faithfully went where the Lord needed her and her family as they moved to Utah, Germany, and Utah again. While fulfilling their assignment in Europe and serving people from dozens of countries, Sister Kearon was inspired by the resilience and dedication of the Lattery-day Saints she met. Additionally, she developed a great appreciation for the unity that Christ’s gospel brings to people from all sorts of backgrounds.
Sister Kearon and her husband have been blessed with four children. Despite trials and hardships, they have chosen to rely on the healing and comfort that comes through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. After losing their oldest child during heart surgery when he was just 19 days old, Sister Kearon remembers her faith being strengthened by the promises of the gospel. To the difficult questions she faced, she was able to respond, “The gospel of Jesus Christ is real. It is my life. It IS life.”1 When she later dealt with her own battle against cancer, she felt great hope knowing that the Savior was with her every step of the way.
Sister Kearon enjoys reading, art, and music. She defines her life with a strong commitment to the gospel and a trust in God’s plan for her and her family.
