Jonathan G. Sandberg, PhD, is a professor in the BYU School of Family Life, where his primary teaching responsibility is training marriage and family therapy graduate students. Prior to join-ing BYU he taught at Syracuse University for 10 years in a similar department.
His research focuses on the relationship between marital dynamics and emotional/physical health. He particularly enjoys working with wonderful graduate students as they try to identify which in-session interactions influence marital and physical health. He also enjoys teaching and training in other professional and community settings regard-ing building successful marriages and families. For more than 20 years it has been his privilege to work with and learn from individuals, couples, and families as a marriage and family therapist.
His greatest joy is being married to his best friend and sweetheart, Sharon Jannelli Sandberg, and spending time with their four vibrant and energetic children, preferably hiking in the national parks of southern Utah.
