Michelle Marchant, a native of Salt Lake City, was raised in a family of eight children. She currently works as an associate professor in the BYU Department of Counseling Psychology and Special Education and has trained educators since 1999.
Michelle worked as a resource teacher in public schools, serving students with mild and moderate disabilities, prior to receiving her PhD from Utah State University.Michelle was appointed director of the BYU Special Education undergraduate program in 2009. Her primary research interests are investigating the prevention of emotional and behavioral disorders and teacher education pedagogy.
Michelle enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, hiking, running, crocheting, playing the piano, singing, reading, and gardening. She has served in various capacities and organizations in the Church and currently teaches Gospel Doctrine. Michelle was also honored to serve a mission to the Haiti Port-au-Prince Mission.
