Susan Kae Robinson Bednar, born and raised in Afton, Wyoming, attended Brigham Young University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Sister and Elder Bednar married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1975, and they are the parents of three sons. She taught first grade for two years and was involved with Elder David A. Bednar’s academic journey, accompanying him to Texas Tech University, the University of Arkansas, and Brigham Young University–Idaho, where he served as university president.
Sister Bednar has served as a Primary president, Primary chorister, Young Women president, Gospel Doctrine teacher, and Lambda Delta Sigma sorority advisor. Sister Bednar has been a dedicated companion to Elder Bednar in his apostolic travels, offering love and support and bearing witness to his divine calling. She has also joined Elder Bednar in several speaking opportunities, including a RootsTech conference, Face to Face events for youth, and devotionals at BYU and BYU–Idaho.
